The Joint Declaration of the Amazon Parliament for the ACTO Summit presents the priorities of the parliaments of the eight Amazonian countries for strengthening regional cooperation on the protection of the Amazon and sustainable development.
The document advocates the institutionalization of PARLAMAZ within ACTO, the promotion of the bioeconomy, forest conservation and restoration, climate finance, and technical and trade cooperation among Amazonian countries. It also calls for the creation of legal frameworks to combat deforestation and support local communities and Indigenous Peoples.
